USAF · E6 · DLI — Russian Basic Course

Russian linguist by training. Target analyst by trade.

Nearly a decade of SIGINT analysis — target development, network mapping, and finished reporting, with Russian at ILR 2+/2/1+.

The language is the entry point, not the job. Flip the toggle — this site reads in Russian.

About

Nine years in signals intelligence, from apprentice to craftsman: target development, network analysis, and finished reporting across four assignments — Hawaii, Korea, Germany, and Fort Meade — before the Air Force sent me to the Defense Language Institute to make the Russian official. Reporting releaser and targeting adjudicator. Russian tested at ILR 2+/2/1+.

Away from the mission, the soft skills of a decade in uniform — leadership, training others, written communication, decisions under pressure — and the technical practice to match: Python, git, self-hosted infrastructure, and AI-assisted development.

Experience

Student, Russian Basic Course

Defense Language Institute — Monterey, CA · June 2025–present
  • Full-time Russian immersion — DLPT 2+/2/1+ in reading, listening, and speaking.
  • Selected after nine years of target analysis to fuse language capability with SIGINT tradecraft.

Target Digital Network Analyst

U.S. Air Force, 41st IS — Fort Meade, MD · 2023–2025
  • Tracked and predicted adversary weapon-system activity across multiple priority countries, producing 1,000+ tactical reports for joint command decision-makers.
  • Supervised a five-person multi-discipline team through a six-month crisis period, delivering 24/7 coverage of a dynamic target set.
  • Partnered with a development group to automate high-priority reporting, enabling near-real-time dissemination for two teams.

Team Supervisor — Multi-INT Analysis & Exploitation Team

U.S. Air Force, 450th IS — Germany · 2021–2023
  • Led a multi-discipline Analysis & Exploitation Team through the Russia–Ukraine conflict; pioneered combined linguist-analyst tradecraft and authored the flight's roadmap. Conducted continuity-of-operations training at two additional sites.
  • Built a production-metrics tool for a 31-member team and codified 300 high-priority targets — guaranteed 100% target tracking.
  • Trained six analysts and wrote the flight's first SOP, lifting team output 600%; selected for two DCGS TDYs, training SIGINT techniques to 125 members.

Target Digital Network Analyst & Reporter

U.S. Air Force, 303d IS — Korea · 2020–2021
  • Team lead for target development and reporting; headed a 10-member joint work center that published 77 reports and closed 394 outstanding queries.
  • Audited an AI translation tool — quality-checked 1,000 terms — advancing the algorithm for DoD-wide language operations. Supported hostage recovery operations.
  • Authored 30 reports and established target TTPs that enabled a $5.7M seizure; led a financial-intelligence cell drafting 72 sanctions-evasion reports.

Target Analyst Developer & Reporter

U.S. Air Force, 392d IS — Hawaii · 2017–2020
  • Triple-hatted as network, reporting, and geospatial analyst — produced 10% of a 55-member team's output during the maximum-pressure campaign.
  • Led a reporting cell authoring 300+ cross-functional reports, satisfying 1,000 intelligence needs across six partner organizations.
  • Pursued 50+ hours of Python programming and automated communications analysis, cutting 80 man-hours and lifting team productivity 20%.

Independent technical practice

2019–present
  • GitHub & version control — repositories, branching and pull-request workflows, continuous deployment; this site ships from a public repo.
  • Python — scripting and automation for data processing, analysis workflows, and tooling.
  • Terminal & IDE coding with AI — Claude Code and Hermes Agent for planning, building, and operating software.
